I began to find it quite time-consuming doing an animatic for a film with a constant pan. so this result is much shorter than the intended film. It’s just to get an idea of movement, and whether or not the colour change works, which after seeing it I don’t think it dose.

Young to old

I had the idea of as he progress and dies through the world he will begin gradually age, so by the time he reaches the park he’s an old man. Below is a concept of how this could look.

Rough walk test

A test to get an idea of how the character might move. Its only simple keys with no further editing. I want to make it more stylized to reflect the look of the character, to have much more bend in his step and not so rigid.

A Style image of how I imagine the film to look. I still would like to add a little more detail. In terms of how this will play out on-screen, is a continuous pan left to right, from his house to the park.

This is an idea of how the future version comes to ‘present’ after the one in front dies. In the image I have the character jumping up, i’ll have to test this to see if it works.

So with keeping the originally concept of cause and effect. I have changed the way in which this will look and play out. Below is an illustration of the new concept and this is how it works. It is a Journey from the characters house to the park, along the way he will encounter hazard after hazard passing through multiple environments. These hazards could be a fast car, a bolt of lighting a hole in the ground, and will kill him off one by one. As he dies, the one behind comes into colour and continues on. The black and white versions are the character slightly in the future, and are not conscious of one another, but will react and avoid the one in fronts cause of death.
